Cognizance

Game Information
Short Introduction:
A symbolic game of escape from the bounds of complex thought.
Platform/System:
Windows
Brief Play Description:

The game follows a story of a feral creature who was captured and given higher thought processes and humanoid form by scientists for their own selfish reasons. Eventually the character realizes that this is not the life he wants to leave. He then must break out of the scientific facility. The game theme is based on the idea of the extinction of thought. The gameplay and abilities start out more ocmplicated and get much simpler and faster as you advance in the story.
We wanted to implement levers and multiple doors and directions in the early block moving levels. There was going to be an intermediate level mixing the side scrolling elements and top down transitioning into simple and fast. Then in the last levels we wanted to have breakable blocks, stunnable enemies and some sort of chase into the wilds at the end and escape into blissful simple existance.
