ZUNDOKO Evolution

Short Introduction: 
This game is based on a Japanese traditional play for children named "Daruma-san Ga Koronda".(you might know a similar play as "Red light, Green light" or "Un, deux, trois, soleil"...) We use Kinect for detect the player's movement. You can move only when the night time, otherwise you will be trampled by mammoth.

Be sure your PC is Kinect ready before start this game. (see installation notes below)

(1) Run an application of Kinect ditection software with double click "ZundokoEvolution.bat".

(2) Run an application of "ZundokoEvolution.jar" to run Java game application.

(3) Calibration start when you raise your arms in triumph. It might take a while.

(4) Once calibration succeed... Let's move!!

(5) You can move only when the night time, otherwise you will be trampled by mammoth.

(6) Before dawn, mammoth's eye will flash.

(7) 5 stages, 3 lives. Go for evolution of mankind!

Installation Notes: 

(1) You need Kinect device to play this game.

(2) Download OpenNI and install it. (watch out you need latest unstable edition)

(3) If you have not yet done, download NITE and install it.
http://www.openni.org/downloadfiles/openni-compliant-middleware-binaries...

Use the following string as the license key during installation:

(4) If you already have OpenKinect or other drivers installed, you will need to switch those drivers.

Download OpenNI-compatible Kinect driver and unzip it.

you might get [avin2-SensorKinect-****] folder.

(5) Connect Kinect device with powered on and install it. (you might fail it)
You can install it manually from control panel/ device manager.
Driver is in [avin2-SensorKinect-****]/Platform/Win32/Driver.

You don't need Audio driver.

(6) Then, install [avin2-SensorKinect-****]/Bin/SensorKinect-Win32-5.0.0.exe

(5) Download latest Java runtime and install it.

(6) Unpack this archive anywhere you like.

there is a single-installer for openni/nite/sensorkinect at zigfu.com along with unity wrapper

Most of our team are walk-in participants and no one's from game company.
So what we've done is very simple and maybe edge.
(actually, I started to hack kinect from nothing but hardware...)

I really enjoyed making it and I am sure I will participate GGJ next year! :)
