Short Introduction: 
ENTAGON is universe exploring 2-4 player versus player game. Duration of every game is 20 - 60 min. In the beginning there was nothing. Until appeared a starting sector of the Universe – superheavy and superhot burning sector, the 4-gon. Game starts in this tiny galaxy. Players task is to destroy the universe. Destroying sectors needs lot of energy. Energy can be obtained from raw materials. Players can mine raw materials by opening new sectors of universe, revealing asteroid fields and mining them. When player get raw material, its delivered by player's shuttle to space station, where is forged into energy. With energy, player can disassemble a sector of universe by his choice. Player with the most disassembled sectors wins the game.

Brief Play Description: 

FIRST HALF OF ENTAGON RULES:

INITIALIZATION PHASE:
1) Player one get four GONs ( space triangles ): WARP SECTOR, STATION SECTOR, BLACK SECTOR and RED LINE BLACK SECTOR
2) Player one builds 4-gon with these GONs by his choice.
3) Every player in clockwise order, starting with player to the left of player one, will place ship of player on his right hand side. ( Player two places ship of player one ).
4) All other GONs are on draw stack faced down to be hidden from players. ENERGY tokens ( red ones ) and RAW MATERIAL tokens are in game bank.
5) Every player will draw two GONs, look at them, place in front them on the table faced down (hide it from others).

GAME:
1) First player does TURN.
2) Everything repeats to the left.

TURN:
Player can do only one thing in a time.
A) Draw a gon from draw stack, if there is any. If player draws third GON, next turn must place two GONs into space.
B) Move his ship in universe to neighbor GON.
C) Place two GONs into universe by OPENING the space, adding GONs and CLOSING the space.
D) Disassemble odd number of GONs from universe by OPENING space, removing GONs and CLOSING the space.

SHIP MOVEMENT:
1) Player choses neighbor GON ( one from three ).
2a) Another player's ship is there:
- Attacked player moves attackers ship 1-2 GON away to any empty ( without ship ) GON chosen by attacked player.
- Attacker do the same with attacked player.
2b) Station is on nearby destination GON and player have some RAW MATERIALS:
- Player immediately returns all RAW MATERIALS back to game bank and gets same amount of energy to his stack.
2c) Asteroids are on destination GON.
- Player immediately gather as many RAW MATERIALS as amount of asteroid fields on neighbor GONs of GON. Neighbor asteroid field has to be on line with destination GON.
2d) Everything else is on destination GON.
- Player moves there.

GGJ 2012 Diversifiers : 
ASCII Art: (3D game... in text) The game is rendered in 3d… but can only use ASCII text (no graphics code or libraries allowed).
Eyes Wide Shut: (No graphics) The game has no graphics.
Scribbl’d: (All art is hand drawn) All artwork is hand drawn and scanned in.
The Right Target Audience: (Programming during play) The game involves the players actually programming while playing.

Installation Notes: 

REST OF ENTAGON RULES:

PLACING GONS:
1) OPEN UNIVERSE: Touch edge of any GON, pull this GON from space ( only side magnets, third have to stay joined )
2) CLOSE UNIVERSE: Add two GONs from players bank connected together with one magnet into new hole.

REMOVING GONS:
1) Player pays 2 energy into game bank.
2) OPEN UNIVERSE: Player removes two neighbor GONs.
3) CLOSE UNIVERSE: Cap the hole with third GON.
4) This can be repeated in actual turn from 1)

note: If player removes 2 GONs from 4-GON space, 2D space will appear ( two opposite GONS faced OUT )
note: If some ship is on removed GON. Owner choses neighbor GON and moves there. This has rules like SHIP MOVEMENT but its not lost turn of player.
note: Warp can be removed at last ( Removing whole galaxy )
note: Space station can be removed only if there is no normal GON in the galaxy ( everything but Warp )

CREATING GALAXIES:
If player lands GON with WARP GATE, he creates another 2D galaxy instead of adding GONs to existing one. All WARP GATES are neighbor GONs. New galaxy works same as others.

END OF THE GAME:
If players has no energy and there is no asteroid field in game and draw stack is empty, game is over. Winner is player with most removed GONs. GONs with red edges are counted twice.

How we made the tiles:

Every GON is 7x7x7cm equilateral triangle made from 1.5mm thick paper.
Every side of GON has 5x2mm neodym magnet in 2mm distance from paper edge in the middle of overlapping rubber ducktape. This has to foldable ( magnets polarization ).
Every GON has another magnet on backside in the midle of gon ( spaceship holder magnet )
Every spaceship is magnet with some garbage on it in colored ducktape.

avg GON ratio per 1 warp gate:
1.5 space stations
2.5 asteroids fields
4 empty gons

one of the warp gates or stations has to have asteroid field also for possibility to finish the game

We really like this board game,

because it is faster and simplier than Imperium twilight and same fun !
