Short Introduction: 
You play as an Alchemist, protecting his journal from the invading evil forces trying to steal it so they can use the knowledge within the book to cause more destruction! Using the power of alchemy with the use of various special plants, you must repel the invaders for as long as possible and hope you can remember the contains of the book!

How to play

Please note that the game is not finished, imagination is required!

The aim of the game is to protect your pedestal from the ever increasing slime hordes that appear from the bottom of the screen. To do this you will need to plant power plants to fight for you and harvest the for life essence.

Aim of the game

The objective of the game is to last for as long as you can against the oncoming slime horde. The pedestal begins with 100 life and will take damage if any slimes reach it. The game is over when the pedestal reaches 0 life.

Life Essence

Life essence is the key material in The Labotanist, it is used to create new plants. The amount of life essence the player has can be seen in the top right hand of the screen. Life essence is spent on creating new plants and regained by harvesting plants the have killed enemies.

Planting

To plant one of your plants select it from the tab on the right hand of your screen and click on a patch of ground close to the Alchemist. If you have enough life essence the plant will spawn and start attacking enemies.

Harvesting

To acquire more life essence you must harvest plants that have killed enemies and deposit it back at your pedestal. To harvest a plant walk up to and press ā€œEā€, the plant will disappear and will be unable to kill enemy slimes, next walk to the pedestal and press ā€œEā€ again. If the plant had any life essence it will be deposited and be ready to use.

Installation Notes: 

Extract all the files to a folder and simply double click the .exe file. Please see above for instructions on how to play (please read!).

ONLY PLAY IN WINDOWED MODE WITH RESOLUTIONS 1280 X 720, 1600 X 900 OR YOU WILL HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON!
