Last January, the Game Center was proud to host a very successful location for the Global Game Jam 2011. We were one of the largest game sites in the world, bringing in folks from all around the New York area to meet the challenge of making a game in 48 hours. In addition to this success, one of the games made at the Game Center, Ned, You Really Suck the Life Out of the Room was selected by Gamesauce as one of the top 10 games from the 1,487 games made. Becker College is located in downtown Worcester, Massachusetts. Our lab located on the third floor of the Weller Building has 30 PCs equipped with Unity, Full Adobe Creative Suite, GameMaker, ZBrush, and 2012 Autodesk 3D Max, Maya, Soft Image, Mudbox. Additionally, there is ample room and electric outlets should participants wish to bring their own laptops and the entire building is Wi-Fi enabled. There is also large lecture hall located in Weller which can accommodate all registered game jammers as well as additional personnel for a post jam presentation. Security for the event shall be provided for the entire 48 hours so participants may continue to work throughout the entire time if they so wish. Many of the college's students are interested in participating in the jam, but we welcome other game developers in the surrounding area to join us as well.

SCAD-Atlanta is excited to be a host site for GGJ 2012 in coordination with other member universities: Berklee College of Music, Columbus State University, Georgia Tech, Georgia State University, Georgia Gwinnett College, SAE Institute Atlanta, Southern Polytechnic State University, The Art Institute of Atlanta and University of Georgia (more to come).

This jam site is open for the entire 48 hours. We will have several presentations and workshops offered by the local industry professionals before the jam on Friday Jan 27th 1-5pm. Registration is $20 payable at the door (CASH ONLY) which covers the cost of food, snacks and drinks for the weekend. Each participant will also receive an exclusively designed T-shirt (check out the attached image at the bottom of this page) and swag only available at SCAD-Atlanta jam site. Special prizes will be awarded to the winners of this jam site (rules and conditions will be announced on the https://blog.scad.edu/ggj).

All computers and software are in limited quantity. Participants are strongly encouraged to bringing their own laptops and equipments to work at the jam site. Wireless Internet connection will be available throughout the jam site.
