Quality assurance

Beau Severson

I am a hobby game developer in Burnsville, MN. I know a little of everything and am trying to learn just about anything I can get my hands on. I am currently in online courses with UAT for a bachelors in game design. I've only created a few piddly GameMaker games as far as completion level but I have been dabbling in playing around with concepts in GameMaker and Unity.

Charles Hans Huang

I am a student game developer at Stony Brook University majoring in Computer Science, aspiring to be an indie game developer in programming and design.

I have taken a course in 2D Game Programming in Spring 2011 using DirectX. With my team members, Jahan Rahim and Tom Grasman, we were nominated as one of the finalists for the Spring 2011 Stony Brook Game Programming Competition. Despite some hiccups during our demo, the strength of the concept and presentation of the game allowed us to walk away with 3rd Place. The majority of my responsibility lay with the design and audio engineering of the game. Here's the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEx1eVDvad4

Fall 2011, learned OpenGL for 3D Game Programming to make a first person shooter with Osman Ozdemir. The game featured 5 weapon types, (rocket, shotgun, pusher bullet, machine gun, teleporter), terrain editing, and animated md2 enemy models. I was responsible mainly for the weapons and AI programming.

During the Spring, bummed from missing the Global Game Jam, I collaborated with my SBGP Competition team member Tom Grasman to make a game using Flixel in 48 hours. It involved alcohol and League of Legends and was relatively successful.

Currently, I am a freelance video game journalist at Examiner.com as the New York Video Game Culture Examiner (Short Link: exm.nr/nyvgc). I have interviewed video game personalities such as Jon St. John (voice of Duke Nukem), Nathan Barnatt (comedian behind Screw Attack character Keith Apicary), Carlos Ferro (voice of Dominic Santiago from Gears of War), and MovieBob (The Game Overthinker and host of Escape to the Movies). I've also gone to cover conventions such as PAX East, ConnectiCon, I-Con, and New York Comic Con.

Sometimes you'll see me at NYC IGDA meetups or New York Gaming Meetup.
