The Awards Ceremony

On Sunday from 4-6pm our 9 teams presented their games to our Illustrious Panel, consisting of:

Fiona French from London Metropolitan University
Ajith Ram from Candella Software (www.candellasoftware.com)
Kam Star from Playgen (www.playgen.com)
Russell Thomas from Creative Boom London (www.creativeboom.co.uk)
Rob Hendry and Barclay Deeming from Ideaworks (www.ideaworkslabs.com)

The games were all highly commended, and awarded first place in the following categories:

* Snowiest game, with most original controls: Natasha, Soviet Plumber Princess

* Simplest, most child-friendly, and most addictive game: Wink's Sink

* Most metaphoric for life, and with the most potential: Kingdom Hurts

* Most exciting concept, most microscopic, and most mold-breaking: Body Warfare

* Most dependent on AI and traffic, and with most narrative potential: W.I.N.K.

* Most religious, manic and subversive: Second Coming

* Spookiest game, created with the smallest team: Sweet Disposition

* Funniest, most pre-school-friendly, with the most reverse-whack-a-mole mechanic: Pikabu

* Best graphics, and which impressed the grizzled industry vets: Bloke On A Bus

All participants were awarded certificates presented by hardcore gamer Joshua (8).

Good morning jammers!

It's a nice sunny day in Hackney :-) The teams are all working away like busy bees.

See you this afternoon!

Looking forward to seeing you later on.. we have the lecture theatre from 5pm, when we can unveil the Theme and stuff, and come up with game ideas, get into teams etc.

Feel free to arrive earlier - you can have a look round at your home for the next 48 hours :-) We have a lounge with a cafe, so you can have a snack etc.

We are full up!

Hi, I'm sorry but we are now full up at Qantm.

If you would like to participate, you can send me an email and I'll let you know if we get a cancellation. Sorry.

Amirali_Mohayaee

Oh dear

Hiya Jason

I accidentally created another GGJ site for Qantm, thinking that I'm actually going through the registration process and now I feel like an idiot :'(

Could you inform the moderators about this? I'm just too embarrassed.

Also, could you send me an email on how to become a "Jammer" or a participant?
My e-mail address is amig90atyahoo [dot] com

Cheers
-Amir

Adrir

Hello

Hey everyone!

It sounds like it is going to be a lot of fun this year!

Hope to see you there.

With Regards,

I can't be there on the Saturday

I can't make it for the Saturday after all, so won't be a major contributor to the GameJam. I'll come on the Friday and Sunday to see if I can do anything constructive in that time.

Please sign up this week

Hi again :-)
If you are thinking of signing up but haven't yet, please can you do it this week (week ending 23rd Jan). That's so we have an idea of numbers and can plan a bit more in the final week. If you want to sign up but it's now after 24th Jan, please send me an email and I'll let you know if we still have space.
Thanks!
