Thanks Jason, and a reminder for everyone - list your accessibility features on your game's page, it only takes a few seconds (bullet points is fine) and is a very easy way to get 10 points.
Worth doing, it's looking like a close run thing, there are several games at the top with similar scores, some people have implemented features without realising it, and some have thought they have but haven't, so those 10 points could make all the difference.
Thanks to everyone who came along and made such excellent games.
Thanks to Ian Hamilton for the accessibility advice, and to Robert Swan and Jodie Azhar, our industry panel.
Thanks also to all the SAE/Qantm London staff who helped make it possible.
If you didn't get a certificate, or you would prefer a cleaner one, no worries, just email me and I will send you one.
See you next time!
I wont be able to be there until about 6 as I don't finish work until half 5 *tears*
See you later, sorry to those who signed up late, but we can't have more than 70 people. If your number is <= 76 you can attend (due to cancellations).
I will try my best to tyrn up on time but I had already Fire alarm in the morning and I still have work and Uni on it's way than I will be able to rush to London.
See you tomorrow guys :)
Cya all in a few hours I guess
Is there weekend parking anywhere near by?
Do we have to present some kind of ticket or ID to enter the college?
..especially your name! Thanks!
Hi, there have been 2 more cancellations, so now if your number is <= 76 you can attend.
To find out your jammer number, click on View Jammers -> Details -- oh, I'll do it -- go to this page: http://globalgamejam.org/og/users/16971/details
Am getting rather excited about participating this year. Looking forward to seeing old faces and new ones! :-)
Hi, I just join today :P Not sure how to check my jammer number. Has been any more cancellations? I'm still able to attend?
Profile Edited see you on Friday Gettting way excited now :P
Hi, there have been a few cancellations, so if your jammer number is <=74 you can attend.
Thanks to the guys who emailed me, and please let me know if you have a place but can't make it.
If you are coming, please can you fill in your profile, at least with your NAME! Or no certificate at the end!
Here is the timetable for the event:
Friday afternoon: jammers start arriving. You can make yourself comfortable in the 1st floor lecture theatre or the cafe/lounge on the 4th floor.
Friday 5pm: event kicks off in the 1st floor lecture theatre. We'll watch the keynote video and the secret theme will be revealed. Participants get into teams, and I will be facilitating this.
Teams tend to occupy the classrooms for the weekend, (5th and 6th floors) and the 4th floor lab area is also available.
Now get started!
Saturday: making games all day!
Sunday 3pm: stop making your games. Upload them to the GGJ website, and then please help tidy up!
4pm: Back in the lecture theatre, the teams demonstrate their games to everyone.
5-6pm go home please! :-)
Can you please tell us the planning of the weekend ? Starting hour, ending hour, etc.
..just to answer the question about parking. Look for parking in residential streets away from the main road.
That's right, we can have up to SEVENTY jammers this time! Our kind and generous overlords have increased the number from 50. If your jammer number is <= 70, you CAN attend! If your number is > 70, I'm afraid you CAN'T attend, unless there is a cancellation. If your number is <= 70 and you won't be attending, PLEASE LET ME KNOW so I can give your place to someone else. Thanks!
I signed up today - after your comment about individual emailing - am I still in for this one? I see that the number count is well over your 50 already!
Oh, and what's the parking like round the college?
Many thanks, Tom
Dear Jammers, I will email you individually over the next week or so to confirm your place. In the past the limit has been 50 people, but I hope that we can fit in a few more this time. PLEASE email me if you do not need your place. Cheers!
My name is Marc, I'm French and I live in the UK.
Last year I did the GGJ in Paris, this year I'd like to be with you in London !
Hope to see you there !
Can I reserve a Mac Please?
How do you pronounce Qantm ?
“Quantum”. It's short for Queensland and Northern Territories Multimedia (the college was founded in Australia)
Where is it?
SAE House, 297 Kingsland Road, Hackney, London E8 4DD. Some buses go by: 242, 243, 149, 67. Haggerston station is 2 mins away.
When will the college be open ?
We plan to be open for the entire 48 hours.
Can I sleep over ?
Yes but it might not be very comfortable (unless you bring an air mattress).
Is there a secure storage area for my stuff ?
No, there isn't. Sorry about that. Obviously I can't promise anything but nothing has gone missing in previous years.
What facilities are available ?
We have a lab with Macs and a small number of PCs, running Visual Studio, Maya, Photoshop, etc. But please bring your own laptop if you have one.
How about food and drink ?
There is a Tesco just over the road from us
..and also cafes and shops up and down Kingsland Road.
Me and buddies will be attending with coding books for additional bedding and housing.
It would be pleasure to again work with you :)
Just returned from mentoring at the Train2Game/Epic Game Jam, and now simply cannot wait for the next GGJ! Will be in Qantm College, with my laptop and mic, ready to pump out the audio for any groups in need.
