Currently working on an A.S. in Math at SCCC. When that's done, I'll be shooting for a transfer to Champlain College in Burlington, VT for their Game Arts & Animation Bachelor's degree program.

So far I've just been practicing 2D art, because drawing is a skill that any artist should have a familiarity and at least basic proficiency in. My ultimate goal though, is to get into game design as a member of a of the 3D art team, maybe working on the high-res cut-scenes and models. Most people don't understand why, if I want to be an artist, I'm studying math, but the two are intrinsically linked. If you understand the advanced math, it can save you a lot of time and guesswork when you're working in 3-Space. You can plan your projects more efficiently, and some programs even allow you to manipulate and fine tune various elements, simply by adjusting the associated mathematical equations.

But understanding must come first, and I've built that up to a preliminary stage, at a fairly impressive level of mastery. But now the real work, and real fun, begins. This semester I start Calculus 3, and Linear Algebra is soon to follow in the Fall. That's the stuff I really need to know, and I can't wait to get my hands dirty.
